MARK MULLIS & STEVE RODGERS
The Southern Charmer opened its doors for business on June 29, 1991. Owner/designer Steve Rodgers and owner Mark Mullis worked their creative magic from the very beginning by relocating a circa 1912 house from historic Woodbine to its current Kingsland location in which to house the shop. This charming house-turned-shop was the perfect setting for The Southern Charmer’s original plan to feature antiques. As time passed and their customers’ needs changed, The Southern Charmer evolved into the business it is today with the goal of offering the latest and best in home furnishings and accessories, gifts, and complete design services.

Working closely over the years with their shop customers and design clients has earned them respect, recognition and many various awards. The Southern Charmer has repeatedly won “The Best of Camden County” award for interior design and gift shop. In addition, they have decorated award-winning model homes, been featured in several publications, entertained clients from coast to coast, and won the 2006 Jacksonville Symphony Showcase “People’s Choice Award” for their contemporary master bedroom/bathroom and sleeping porch in the Saxleby Model.

Today, The Southern Charmer continues to be the best local source for all of your interior and decorating needs. A complete design service is available with many additional offerings including space planning, lighting design, hand-tailored upholstery, re-upholstery, faux finishing and hand painting, as well as custom window treatments and bedding. Blinds, plantation shutters and shades are another option. One unique service they offer is their complete assistance with any building or remodeling project – no matter how large or how small. They work with many local premier builders and can ease the process of communication, selecting and implementing finish choices, and delivering the dream results you expect.

The Southern Charmer continues to offer fresh ideas as styles and designs change. Stop by the shop for a visit to see the current trends in home furnishings and accessories, gifts, and design. They look forward to seeing you and hearing how they can meet your decorating needs.
